Golfwits is a technology...
Set your ball on your course map and Golfwits knows where the ball is...
left or right of the fairway, distance from the tee or previous shot, distance
remaining to the center of the green, and so much more. Golfwits will automatically
generate your stats, helping you to both pre-plan your next round of golf and to
monitor your performance after each round. Golfwits utilizes interactive course
maps as its means for displaying carry distances between any two points you choose
on the map and for recording shots to automatically generate your stats. The
following describes how Golfwits works.

|
Generated Stats
Simply by placing your ball position on the map and recording the shape of the shot
and the club used, you get a wealth of stats automatically recorded for you. Not only
is the visual recorded data helpful, but the collected stats over a couple of rounds
is extremely helpful in learning how to manage the course from pre-planning to performance monitoring.

Golfwits Players
Golfwits Players such as: Golfwits Player for the PC,
Golfwits Player for the Pocket PC and Golfwits Player for the Palm automatically generate statistics when
you set each ball position on the map of your course. Golfwits Players are different
from the Golfwits eYardageBook in this respect. While the Golfwits eYardageBook let's you
"Drag-4-Distance" between any two points, it does not allow you to record your shots and
generate your statistics. Once you learn how to use Golfwits for the PC, you know how to use
it on the handheld versions as well.

The Player
When you start a new round and open a course map in a Golfwits Player as shown to the left,
the course map has no shots recorded and the stats window is blank except for stat category headings.
|
Recording Shots...
Typically, you will print out a paper ProBook of your course and mark your shots as you played
them. I like to place a mark on the printed eYardageBook where my ball landed with a line to my entry
such as: 1w/F/194 to indicate that I faded my drive 194 yards from the center of the green. (Golfwits
will automatically compute the distance I hit my shot.) When I go to record it in Golfwits I use these
markings in my ProBook as my reference.
The following three steps are all you have to do to record your shot: 1. Placing the ball,
2. Shaping the Shot, and 3. Selecting the Club.
|
|
Placing the ball
The distance indicator box hovers next to the ball indicating the distance remaining to the center
of the green while pressing the left mouse button and dragging the mouse pointer across the map.
In the top left-hand corner, the region, the suggested club, and the distance from the tee are displayed.
|
|
Shaping the Shot
The five shot shapes: hook, draw, straight, fade, and slice are selected by hovering your mouse pointer
inside the distance indicator box and pressing and holding the left mouse button. Drag back and forth to
make your selection and release the left mouse button.
|
|
Selecting the Club
The Club Selection box pops up immediately after you select the shape of your shot. Select the club
used for that shot and now your ball is set and the stats for that shot will be automatically generated by Golfwits.
|
Automatically recorded stats...
The Golfwits Round Recorder automatically translates the recorded shot into statistics, such as Fairways
Missed Right, Ball Flight Fade percentages, Total Distance Played, Club Usage, Strokes, Total Score, and much more.

Repeat for each remaining shot to the green...
Recording your shots on the map is very easy and the wealth of stats that get generated are extremely
useful in identifying areas of strength and weakness. You will soon begin to see repetitive visual patterns
of play and start eliminating choices you make that often penalize you out on the course.
