Starting A New Round
After you have selected the New round option, the Golfer Profile dialog box will open. Each of the arrows is a pick list. Starting with golfer number 1, enter the name of the golfer and select right or left handed. Select the tee and the par/hcp the golfer will be using. |
If you know the golfer's usga index, select 'USGA Index' from the pick list. If you are using the golfer's course handicap, select 'Handicap'. Enter the player's hcp number. Finally, select the golfer's 150 yard club and whether or not you want Golfwits to suggest clubs. |
Select golfer number 2 from the pick list and repeat the above process. This can be done for golfers 3 and 4 as well. Tap 'Done' when finished. |
Navigating on the Course Map
The Course Map Scoring mode will open on hole number 1 for golfer number 1. You know you are in the Scoring mode when it says 'Score' in the Mode Pick list in the lower left corner of the screen. |
You can return to the Golfer Profile dialog box by tapping the pick list in the upper right corner and then tapping "Players...". To show another golfer's round, select that golfer's name from the pick list. |
As you drag your stylus on the map of the course, the yardage from that point to the center of the green (not necessarily the pin location) will be displayed in the floating yardage indicator box (e.g. 175). The region at that point is displayed in the upper left of the screen (e.g. fwy for "fairway"). The yardage hit and club suggestion is also shown. |
You can scroll the map in any direction by dragging the stylus to the edge of the map window. This enables you to easily set your ball location or check your distance from any location on the map. |
You can quickly scroll from top to bottom of the map using the scroll button on the front panel of your handheld. This is great for checking tee locations. |
To move to a different hole, tap the arrows on the bottom of the map tool bar or tap the hole number on the map tool bar to open a pick list. Tap the hole you would like to move to. |

Recording A Shot
After you have hit your first shot and located your ball on the course, you are ready to record your shot. Drag the stylus on the screen until the ball location on the screen matches the actual ball location on the course. |
Place your stylus on the Yardage Indicator box. A black bar will appear. As you move your stylus to the left and right, you will see the shot shape (e.g. 'draw') indicated in the upper left corner of the screen. Release the stylus after selecting the shape of your shot. |
The club selection box will open. Tap on the club used for the last shot. (Note: if your shot was a miss hit, check the miss hit box first). The box will automatically close. |
Your first shot is now recorded and is indicated next to the ball position on your map. |
After hitting your next shot, repeat the same process to record the shot. |
Once you have placed a ball position on the green, the green dialog box will open. |
Place the stylus on the distance slider and drag the slider until the first putt footage is indicated. Then, for each putt, tap on the appropriate button on the putt grid. In this example, the golfer was short and left of the hole on the first putt and holed out on the second. Each putt is listed as you record it. To edit the putts, select the putt from the putts list and then tap "Delete". Tap "Done" to record your putts. |
